Coming to Faith in Christ in Guyana

Coming to Faith in Christ in Guyana

PAOC global workers in Guyana, Colin & Dorselie G, report on their greatest ministry challenges and opportunities:

Our most exciting accomplishment was the launch of our first church plant. One year ago, we held our first worship service. Very soon after, God encouraged us with five people who gave their hearts to the Lord, and later three out of five members of a Hindu family came to faith in Christ.

The mom and teenage daughter have been growing in their spiritual walk and practicing the disciplines of daily bible reading and prayer. Their younger child, Nathan, who is eight years old, was getting dressed to go to a Hindu function, and his mom put out the outfit she wanted him to wear.

However, he objected to wearing the clothing she selected for him with these words, "Mom I don't wear those clothes anymore. I am a Christian now." He also has a very special touch of God on his life and enjoys memorizing scripture verses.

Our biggest ministry challenge is to find matured leaders who will commit to work with the new Christians.

PRAY that the Lord will send mature leaders who will commit to work with the new Christians.

PRAY that our young people will take up the challenge of learning to play a musical instrument that can ultimately be used in our worship services.

PRAY that our new Christians will respond to the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Pray for God’s hand to continue to be on this young boy, his family and all other new believers in this fellowship in Guyana.

PRAY for wisdom, grace and God’s empowerment as Colin and Dorselie continue to walk out their calling.
