Sharing Life (and Jesus) in Hard Places

Sharing Life (and Jesus) in Hard Places

PAOC RAN Global Workers, D and I, are thankful to report that their visa for their country in Asia was finally granted after several years of waiting amid corruption and anti-Christian sentiment. This is the reality in places that are hardest to reach. Praise God for answered prayer!

Faithfully following God’s call takes patience and perseverance while trust in relationships slowly grows. Here is one story of fruit that grew out of a very young boy’s gift of hospitality, God’s little bridge-builder.

I met R and her young son when her son asked his mother to invite me for tea. We met at a coffee shop then a month later (and several texts), I visited at her home for tea. Since then, there have been many visits between our homes, meeting family, realizing our husbands played soccer together and sharing meals at Christmas and Ramadan. Later, she invited me to hang out with her while she did some errands around town.  As we travelled by rickshaw, I shared the scriptures I have been reading that day from the Sermon on the Mount - Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God. We talked about what that means to be God's children.  When I asked if she wants to read the Injil with me (the New Testament), she responded, I would LOVE that. So would I!  So, we will.

PRAY for R and her family as she reads the New Testament and discusses with D & I that her heart surrenders to Jesus.

PRAY that signs and wonders would follow the sharing of God’s word in these relationships to draw hearts to repentance.

PRAY for D and I as they faithfully serve in this chaotic city that the Light of Jesus would shine brightly in this dark place.
