PAOC global worker, Cavell Rowsell, has faithfully served in Thailand for 48 years. On May 5, the Full Gospel Assemblies of Thailand celebrated 50 years as a denomination. Today there are 102 churches across the country. Please pray that the vision of planting 50 more churches within the next five years will be accomplished. Here is Cavell’s report:
From 2004-2014, I lived in Chiang Mai province, travelling to the remote Hmong community of MaeSaNga. The women did not speak Thai but wanted their children, especially their daughters, to be able to receive an education. No school existed in the community. It was so remote that only at certain times of the year was it possible to travel in or out, so the children came to stay at Abundant Love Children’s Home and attended a local school.
Ten years later in 2024, I went back. That evening, mothers from the community (some of whom had been able to get an education plus hear the story of Jesus) came running to me, saying:
“It has been so long since we have seen you! You need to come to visit us again. The church is growing. We have had seven new families come to accept Jesus just this year.”
“Not only that, but we now have electricity. We have good roads! Our men have only one wife!”
They live in a changed community in which women are no longer valued only as the symbol of wealth (as the workforce for the land), but both men and women are seen as coheirs with Christ.
PRAY God would draw believers so the FGAT fellowship can successfully plant 50 or more churches within the next five years.
PRAY this Hmong village deep in northern Thailand continues growing in obedience to Christ and sharing with other Hmong communities around them.
PRAY the Lord empowers Cavell and our other PAOC global workers in Thailand as they continue to serve with FGAT fellowship and many other ministries throughout Thailand.
